Another week has gone by so it’s time for a quick report of my progress on Insanity. There’s not much to report this week, so I’ll keep this update brief.
First, I think my body is adjusting to the workouts. This is not to say that they aren’t still exhausting (I find my heart rate still goes through the roof on a lot of the exercises), but I definitely don’t experience the same level of soreness that I used to. The warm up used to exhaust me but now it really does feel like a warm up, which is great! So I think my cardiovascular strength is definitely improving.
I also took my measurements again this week and have seen some changes here as well! Definitely excited about the progress! I will say that it’s not as pronounced as my progress after Week 2- but you can’t have it all! I think that also has to do with my eating habits needing to improve.
At this point in the program I’m thinking about starting to drink a protein shake, to start speeding up the muscle building process. But I’m nervous about the calories involved in drinking protein shakes- does anyone have any advice here? Specific shakes that they would recommend? I would hate to start drinking a shake and start putting on unnecessary weight!!
My last & biggest update is that after this coming week, Week 4, I will be just about 50% of the way through the Insanity program!! I’m really grateful for the support- so many people have inquired about how it’s going and been so supportive. I even have a few friends thinking about starting Insanity! That said, I still have 4 weeks to go after this week, and they will be the toughest- Week 5 is a rest week and then the workouts intensify during Weeks 6-9! So I’m a bit nervous about Month 2 of the program. If you’re thinking about doing Insanity, please stay tuned on how Month 2 goes- guaranteed to be rough. Onto Week 4! Keep your fingers crossed for me!!
Thanks for the support!
