Hey guys! I was in Chicago the weekend before last & enjoyed some very good eats! The windy city has so many amazing restaurants to offer- it was difficult to choose! The final choice was “The Girl & the Goat“, a highly rated New American & organic restaurant in Chicago’s West Loop. The Girl & the Goat is also where the lone female winner of Top Chef, Stephanie Izard, works as the executive chef! Some of the food wasn’t the healthiest, but here’s to a great splurge! 😉
Who knew that beef tongue could be this delish! It was served with a crunchy masa (cornmeal dough made for tortillas) and a tangy vinaigrette. Can you say “yum”?
This dish had this unbelievable smokiness. Whew! Between the bold flavor of the pistaschio -lemon vinaigrette and the crispyness of the octopus, this dish was just lush.
This was pure heaven and I wasn’t even sure what was in it when I ate it! After my tastebuds came down from the high that was this dish, I learned that cara-cara is a navel orange, sweet and low in acid. Sweet surrender!
All in all, Chicago treated me well!! Time to get back on the healthy-eating wagon! -CFC
