Insanity Asylum Pt. 1 (Round 2): Day One Is Always the Hardest…

With the complete Asylum DVD set giveaway going on right now on the blog, I started thinking long and hard about my next fitness challenge. I’ve been in a bit of a workout slump lately- holiday parties, cold weather and work demands have made it really hard for me to commit to a workout consistently. And my eating habits could be better…

Well, you guys inspired me! I’ve decided to do the complete Asylum DVD set! Care to join me?

So I know what you’re thinking. Um, Helen, didn’t you already do Asylum Part 1? Why would you do Part 1 again instead of jumping right into Part 2? Well, as a very wise fitness friend Running HHT said: “Sometimes you have to start at the beginning.”  

Sometimes you have to reset when it comes to your workout/diet, because a fresh start can give you the boost you need to stay committed. So I’m going back to the start and doing Asylum Part 1 and then Asylum Part 2 starting…TODAY!

This morning I got up and did Day One of Asylum Pt 1: Speed & Agility. Good Lord! I forgot how much I hate the floor ladder. I forgot how my heart rate goes through the roof each time I do mountain climbers, in&out abs, etc. I spent a lot of the time wondering what the hell I was committing myself to!

Since I’ve already done reviews of Asylum Part 1 on the blog, I think I may just give you guys a few basic updates every so often, especially if I notice better results this time around. Let me know if there’s anything that YOU want to hear about my Asylum Part 1 experience that I haven’t covered in my reviews! Then it will be on to Asylum Part 2, where I’ll do another set of weekly reviews & a results post.

    I enter the Asylum after Xmas (best Xmas present ever, can’t wait)…just on my last week of Insanity round two…so count me in 🙂

    I would love to win this! I have finished insanity and got amazing results but have been stagnant since ( 1 month ) and I would really live another challenge … I love Beach Body products and Shawn T really does a great job helping you reach your goals!

    I’ve completed Insanity twice and I so agree with starting at the beginning. I also chose today to refocus and recommit to my exercise and eating. I sometimes feel so surprised by how quickly my mind “forgets” how hard some of the exercises can be. Probably a good thing it forgets.

  5. I am still waiting on my Insanity set from KGB Deals! I emailed them today because it’s taking forever!

  6. I should be getting the asylum dvd’s by the end of this week. I just finished my first 60 days of insanity so I’m thinking next monday i will start the asylum!!!

    I’m finishing up my second round of Asylum Vol 1 on Sunday!! Hoping to get Vol 2 for Christmas so I’ll be jumping into that then.
    I absolutely LOVE the Asylum workouts, even though I may be cursing Shaun T half the time, haha! But the changes in my fitness and my body are amazing for only 30/60 days.

    Count me in to have your back! I’m finishing up the last 2 weeks of Insanity (3rd round). I will be ready to enter the “Asylum” by the of Dec or the first of Jan! Let’s get it!

    On to completing my first week of Asylum. Instead of rest day today, I ran with Max Sports Interval from the first insanity. Feels great to be back on this train!
