Focus T25 Results: Interview w/ a CFC Challenge Group Alum!! (Spotlight Thursday)

What better way to kick off 2014 than with a CFC Spotlight Thursday Interview? When Amber joined my first T25 Challenge Group back in October, I knew that her seriousness and dedication to the program would see her through to great results. I’m so grateful to get to know her, to be a part of her fitness journey & I’m also grateful to her for sharing her journey on! Read on to hear her story!!


1. Tell us about yourself!!! 

I am someone who has always struggled with my weight.  I was always the kid who was always a little overweight, even though I was always active and was a competitive dancer.  It wasn’t until I was in my mid 20’s that I took a healthy lifestyle more seriously.  I joined a gym and changed my eating habits.  To this day I am always looking for new workouts and healthy recipes to try out.  It was 3 years ago that I became a Zumba instructor as a way to help others enjoy a healthy lifestyle!

2. What made you decide to join the CFC-T25 Challenge Group in October 2013? What were your goals?
I decided to join the CFC-T25 Challenge Group in October because I truly believe that having a support system is a great way to stay motivated.  It is easy to lie to yourself in saying that you’re going to work out or cook a healthy meal or say that you will start tomorrow.  When you have others to check in with and to keep posted on your progress I believe it is easier to stay focused on what your goals are.  I have also recently returned to school and wanted a workout that I could easily fit into my schedule.

3. What was the experience like for you? What did the Challenge Group involve?

I thought the group was a great experience.  It was a great way to keep in contact with other people who were doing the same workouts as you.  When others had a good day working out, it gave you the strength to remind yourself to work out and push forward if you were having a bad day.  It also reminded you that everyone may have a bad day when it comes to eating well. It was just an overall great way to post what you were doing and feeling during the progress and to see that you aren’t the only one doing it.

4. How is CFC as a coach? (Be honest!!) What, if anything, is unique about her coaching?

CFC was great as a coach.  Every Sunday she posted a video to get us pumped up for the upcoming week.  After having Saturday & Sunday off it can sometimes be hard to get back into the groove of working out.  By watching the video it always got me excited to start my Monday workout.  She would also always email each participant every weekend to check in to see how we were doing and what our stats were like for that week.

5. Tell us about your weight loss & measurement changes!!! 

I was very impressed with my weight loss and measurements.  I lost 7 pounds in total, starting at 135 and ending up at 128.  I also lost a total of 7 inches from my bust, waist, and hips.  My goal was to lose 10 pounds and to get a flatter midsection.  With not having a lot to lose, I knew getting rid of 10 pounds would be a challenge.  I was happy with my 7 pound lose and hope to lose the rest when I continue on with Gamma!

6. Would you recommend joining a CFC Challenge Group? If so, why?

I would defiantly recommend joining a CFC Challenge Group, especially if you are someone who tends to get off track with a program. It’s a great way to get tips about healthy eating and with staying on track with getting your work outs in every day. Overall, it’s an excellent way of staying motivated!

7. Anything else you want to add?

During T25, I also used Shakeology. Shakeology is another BeachBody product that I really enjoyed.  I used it as a meal replacement for one meal 5-6 days a week.  It tasted great and there were a wide variety of recipes on the website so there were many options to choose from.  I truly believe this helped with the results I was able to obtain!!!
